2021 NBA Mock Draft May 4

The 2021 NBA season is under way, which means the 2021 NBA Draft won’t be too far behind. Here is the 2021 NBA Mock Draft May 4.

1. Houston Rockets- Cade Cunningham, G/F, Oklahoma State

The Rockets are rebuilding and can get a nice player to build around in Cunningham if they get the first pick. He can score and make plays for his teammates, which is impressive given his size.

2. Minnesota Timberwolves- Jalen Suggs, PG, Gonzaga

While the Timberwolves have had some solid rosters over the last few seasons, they just can’t figure things out. They need to take the best player available and move pieces around in order to move forward.

3. Detroit Pistons- Evan Mobley, PF/C, USC

Over the last few seasons the Pistons have rid themselves of their bigs in Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond. They can get a young, athletic big to pair with their young guards and wings in Mobley.

4. Orlando Magic- Jalen Green, G, G-League

Getting a backcourt mate to pair with Cole Anthony will be important for the Magic’s growth. Green has averaged nearly 18 points per game in the G-League and is a good athlete.

5. Cleveland Cavaliers- Jonathan Kuminga, F, G-League

The Cavaliers have a good backcourt in Darius Garland and Collin Sexton. Getting a young forward to go with them will really help the team build.

6. Oklahoma City Thunder- Jalen Johnson, F, Duke

Johnson opted out of the season after it started, but he plays a unique style. He has good body control and ball-handling ability.

7. Washington Wizards- Scottie Barnes, F, Florida State

The Wizards have a solid backcourt and can now get a point forward to go with it. Barnes played point guard at Florida State and could use those talents well in the NBA.

8. Toronto Raptors- Moses Moody, G, Arkansas

Moody is a three-level scorer who needs to develop other areas of his game, but the Raptors could use some scoring threats.

9. Sacramento Kings- Kai Jones, PF/C, Texas

The backcourt is stacked with D’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield. Sacramento needs to get some bigs and Jones was a much-improved player this season at Texas.

10. Orlando Magic- Corey Kispert, G/F, Gonzaga

With two great athletes in Anthony and now Green, the Magic can get a solid shooter to stretch the floor for them.

11. New Orleans Pelicans- Davion Mitchell, G, Baylor

Defense has been a problem for the Pelicans and they can get a great two-way palyer in Mitchell. His stock rose a lot during the 2021 NCAA Tournament due to his ability to create and defend.

12. Indiana Pacers- Keon Johnson, G, Tennessee

Johnson didn’t perform up to expectations at Tennessee, but he provided flashes of getting to the basket.

13. Golden State Warriors- Franz Wagner, F, Michigan

With Klay Thompson returning next season and Draymond Green struggling to score, the Warriors could use another wing scorer.

14. San Antonio Spurs- Isaiah Jackson, F, Kentucky

Jackson is a great athlete who will be able  to protect the rim right away in the NBA.

15. New York Knicks- Josh Giddey, PG, Australia

The Knicks have a point guard of the future in Immanuel Quickley, but he can also play off ball if they want to pick Giddey.

16. Charlotte Hornets- James Bouknight, G, UConn

Bouknight is a great scorer and could benefite from playing with a point guard like LaMelo Ball.

17. Memphis Grizzlies- Ziaire Williams, G/F, Stanford

While Williams needs to improve on his outside shot, he can be an asset to pair with Ja Morant.

18. Boston Celtics- Usman Garuba, F/C, Spain

The Celtics have lacked a solid interior presence all season.

19. Houston Rockets- Alperen Senguin, C, Turkey

Senguin is gifted offensively on the interior and has been very effective in Turkey.

20. Atlanta Hawks- Cameron Thomas,G, LSU

Thomas isn’t afraid to shoot, but he needs better shot selection to be more efficient. He may be able to take some pressure off of Trae Young.

21. New York Knicks- Brandon Boston, G/F, Kentucky

Boston will have some familiarity with assistant coach Kenny Payne who helped recruit him to Kentucky. He didn’t play up to expectations in his one year in college, but has a nice game to develop.

22. Houston Rockets- Jared Butler, PG, Baylor

The Rockets built their franchise on players who could space the floor. They need to get a few more players who can do that after starting their rebuild.

23. Los Angeles Lakers- Johnny Juzang, G, UCLA

As long as LeBron James and Anthony Davis are on the roster, the Lakers have to surround them with shooters.

24. Houston Rockets- Ayo Dosunmu, G, Illinois

Dosunmu can score and create for teammates well and can learn under John Wall.

25. Denver Nuggets- Sharife Cooper, PG, Auburn

With Jamal Murray recovering from a torn ACL, the Nuggets will need some point guard depth next season.

26. Los Angeles Clippers- Jaden Springer, G, Tennessee

Springer was a good 3-point shooter at Tennessee and has to continue to become a better creator.

27. Brooklyn Nets- Miles McBride, G, West Virginia

The Nets have all the offense they need, but they need players who are going to buy in on defense as role players.

28. Philadelphia 76ers- Charles Bassey, C, Western Kentucky

A long-term back up for Joel Embiid is needed.

29. Phoenix Suns- David Duke, PG, Providence

The Suns can get a solid young point guard to develop behind Chris Paul.

30. Utah Jazz- Josh Christopher, G, Arizona State

Christopher could help provide a developmental bench scorer for the Jazz.
