All the way back in October, it was revealed via Twitter that the Dallas Fuel would not be bringing back Canadian Flex Support William “Crimzo” Hernandez for the 2021 season. Raising the question, what are the top Crimzo Overwatch landing spots?
Dallas will not be extending my contract thus I'm now a Free Agent for the OWL 2021 season. It was a wild ride this season but I will cherish the good memories and learn from the bad.

Fans of the talented young player who had played for Team Canada in the Overwatch World Cup were understandably upset. Yet in recent weeks, Crimzo has given hints that his time in the wild world of LFT-Ville has come to an end. He began by putting out this very teasing little message:
Hmmm 👀 #ForceofNature #RiseTogether #Letitreign #ShieldsUp #AnteUp #BostonUp #AcesHigh

Followed closely by him, in a delightful little jab at OWL super sleuth HaloOfThoughts, all but confirming his being signed:
According to sources, I will not be homeless for the 2021 season of the Overwatch League.

By putting on the old Sherlock Holmes hat, one can discern a few things from his hashtag filled tweet. Yes, teams these days have been inclined to have more than one flex support on the roster in case a double flex meta surfaces. That is true, yet it is more likely that Crimzo would be more attracted to a team that would guarantee his place on the starting roster. So, what are the most likely Crimzo Overwatch landing spots?
Breaking It Down
Teams that have either recently signed someone or have flex supports already, such as the Boston Uprising, Atlanta Reign and Los Angeles Gladiators, have already committed to a player or have recently filled a vacancy on the roster. So the likelihood of Crimzo going to any of these teams is not high. The next team one can rule out, if rumors are to believed, would be the London Spitfire. These are still rumors, but it is looking all the more likely with each passing day that the Spitfire may be signing the bulk of their dominant academy team, the British Hurricane. This would give them a talented flex support player in Riku “Ripa” Toivanen.
So with all the sleuthing out the way, three teams remain.
Houston Outlaws
In what would be delightfully poetic, one of the most likely Crimzo Overwatch landing spots would be his former team’s most heated rival. The 2021 battles of Texas would certainly be a little more personal with the teams essentially trading support lines. Not only that, but with the Outlaws likely looking to build a mixed roster featuring multiple western players, then it would be a great fit.
By no means did Crimzo look bad during his time with the Dallas Fuel. Statistically, he was doing very well with there being an argument for his being the best Western flex support in the league. This team is in the process of rebuilding after a rather disappointing 2020 showing. They have already addressed one of their biggest issues by bringing in Jae “Junkbuck” Choi from the San Francisco Shock to be their new co-head coach. So this could be the perfect place for Crimzo to showcase more of the skill he showed in 2020.
Toronto Defiant
Speaking of a team in the middle of a massive rebuild, we come to the Defiant. After dramatically releasing the bulk of their roster like they were going out of business, the Defiant is on the hunt. As with the Outlaws, the Defiant has gotten off to a pretty great start. One of the team’s biggest issues, if not their biggest in 2020, was the instability at the coaching role.
How did they solve this? By bringing in the man who led the Philadelphia Fusion on their amazing 2020 season run, Dong-gun “KDG” Kim. This is a man who knows how to get the best from any player under his tutelage. What a partnership he and Crimzo could have. A talented player so motivated and driven to succeed, alongside a proven winner of a coach. He would bring explosive talent and a reliable presence to the Defiant’s backline. Additionally, the Defiant has been known to cultivate Canadian talent to represent them, so bringing in the best Canadian flex support in the game seems like a match made in heaven.
Vancouver Titans
The Canadian train keeps on moving with the Titans being another team where Crimzo could find a home. The team already has flex support Randal “Roolf” Stark, but his performance in 2020 didn’t leave fans overly confident. Could he have a redemption year? Absolutely, but having another option wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. This is a team that is in dire need of a strong support line.
Crimzo could bring the additional firepower that could help this team of rookies take their game to the next level. Like the Defiant, the Titans have recently been very inclined to sign Canadian talent. The team could build almost a full roster of Canucks. Bringing in Crimzo, and completing their revamped support line by pairing him with contenders NA main support Blake “Zholik” Solberg would give them a firm team identity as well as a support duo with limitless potential.
