Wild Rift: Patch 2.2a

Patch 2.2a brought massive champion balances to the Wild Rift. From nerfing overpowered picks, to bringing light to all that is Targon, Riot developers released patch 2.2a effectively bringing massive changes to the game. These very detailed changes, only two weeks after patch 2.2, show the developers’ commitment to keeping the Wild Rift meta healthy. Here is a look at the important things from Wild Rift patch 2.2a.


Alistar is having his Headbutt damage reduced when targetting enemies and turrets. Alistar has been dealing too much damage with his headbutt so it’s being reduced by 75%! Alistar is a strong support in League with 2 separate knock-ups and outrageous tankiness.

(Ability 2) Headbutt

  • Damage: 55/130/205/280 → 50/120/190/260
  • Turret damage ratio: 150% → 75%


Blitzcrank can move faster with a powerful hook thanks to these buffs. Upgrading Rocket Grab’s damage allows for AP Blitzcrank builds and other annoying shenanigans.

(Ability 1) Rocket Grab

  • Damage: 60/120/180/240 → 80/140/200/260

(Ability 2) Overdrive

  • Self-slow duration: 1.5s → 1s


Riot has decided to gut Corki’s passive by increasing its cooldown time by 50 seconds. This will lower Corki’s playability because he was given no buffs to counterbalance this massive nerf.

(Passive) Hextech Munitions

  • The Package arrival rate: 100s → 150s


In compensation for destroying Galio, Wild Rift granted Diana buffs in every way. Increased base health, lower cooldowns for abilities 1 and 2, and massive damage increases to her ultimate. This is the time to become a Diana main.

Base Stats

  • Base Health: 570 HP → 610 HP

(Passive) Moonsilver Blade

  • [NEW] After casting a spell, Diana gains 30% to 120% Attack Speed (based on level) for the next 3 attacks.

(Ability 1) Crescent Strike

  • Cooldown: 10/9/8/7s → 9/8/7/6s

(Ability 2) Pale Cascade

  • Cooldown: 14s → 13/11.5/10/8.5s

(Ability 3) Lunar Rush

  • [REMOVED] Bonus Attack Speed moved to (Passive) Moonsilver Blade

(Ultimate) Moonfall

  • Minimum base damage: 150/200/250 + 35% AP → 175/225/275 + 40% AP
  • Maximum base damage: 300/400/500 + 70% AP → 350/450/550 + 80% AP

Dr. Mundo has been an overwhelming presence on the rift. His tankiness and damage has him destroying towers fast and sustaining for far too long. This patch he’s getting nerfed to tone down his overall aggression on the field.

Base Stats

  • Attack Damage: 64 → 58
  • Health: 690 HP → 650 HP
  • Armor: 45 → 40

(Ability 3) Masochism

  • Duration: 5s at all ranks → 3/3.5/4/4.5s


Galio was shown no mercy this patch having everything but his ultimate nerfed. Base health down, longer cooldowns, and damage decrease across the board this patch for Galio.

Base Stats

  • Health: 610 HP → 570 HP

(Passive) Colossal Smash

  • Cooldown: 5/4/3s at level 1/5/9 → 5/4.5/4s at level 1/5/9
  • Base damage: 15 to 225 (based on level) → 15 to 190 (based on level)

(Ability 1) Winds of War

  • Percent HP damage per AP ratio: 2% → 1.5%

(Ability 2) Shield of Durand

  • Cooldown: 15/14/13/12s → 18/17/16/15s
  • AP ratio: 60% → 45%

(Ability 3) Justice Punch

  • Dash range: 6.5 → 5.75


Cooldown buff alert! Leona is having her first and third ability’s cooldown lowered. This will help Leona stun more often making her a better overall champion.

(Ability 1) Shield of Daybreak

  • Cooldown: 6s → 5s at all ranks

(Ability 3) Zenith Blade

  • Cooldown: 13/12/11/10s → 12/10/8/6s

Glorious damage buffs galore! Pantheon’s base damage and damage on his first ability are both being buffed this patch. A must-play champ for ranking up.

Base Stats

  • Attack Damage: 58 → 64
  • Attack Damage per level: 2.65 per level → 3.6 per level

(Ability 1) Comet Spear

  • Tap base damage: 55/100/145/190 → 70/110/150/190
  • Charge base damage: 55/100/145/190 → 70/110/150/190
  • Bonus AD ratio: 100% → 110%
  • Critical strike bonus AD ratio: 150% → 165%

Shyvana is a strong champion with an easy moveset. Unfortunately, she is getting nerfed this patch.

Base Stats

  • Health: 650 HP → 610 HP

(Ability 1) Twin Bite

  • Cooldown: 8/7/6/5s → 9/8/7/6s

(Ability 3) Flame Breath

  • Maximum on-hit HP damage ratio: 3.5% → 3%


Tristana can be a game changing champion and these buffs are necessary to completing her kit. Her ability to take towers quickly will increase with the cooldown reduction brought to her third ability Explosive Charge.

Base Stats

  • Attack Damage per level: 2.65 per level → 3.6 per level

(Ability 3) Explosive Charge

  • Cooldown: 16s at all ranks → 16/15/14/13s


Just a bit to beafy of a jungler, Vi is getting nerfed. Her armor is down and cooldown reduction is upon her ultimate. This nerf will see slightly less Vi players but overall should not affect her that much.

Base Stats

  • Armor: 35 → 30

(Ultimate) Assault and Battery

  • Cooldown: 85/65/45s → 95/75/55s
