Riot buffed Janna in Wild Rift Patch 1.1, and now Janna stands as one of the most powerful supports. To help players, here are two different build paths for Janna. One build focuses on healing and the other prioritizes damage.
[Related: Seraphine Build]
Protector Janna keeps her allies alive, prioritizing defensive abilities to maximize barriers and healing. The Rod of Ages may seem a little out of place, but the item itself is very great in the meta for Wild Rift Patch 1.1.
These items allow Janna to have short cooldowns, utilizing crowd control and shields from items and her abilities to give allies protection. This build is great for players looking for the typical healing support to play in Wild Rift, as the healing in this build feels extremely strong.
Abilities Upgrade Priority:

2nd ability
1st ability
4th ability
Upgrade Ultimate whenever possible.

Damage Janna works surprisingly well. The base AP scaling on all her abilities is very high. Thanks to this, building full AP allows her abilities to not only do great burst damage but also increase her shield and healing as well.
Building pure AP does not mean that Janna does not heal or throw out barriers, but rather gives her barrier and shields more power. The biggest issue and tradeoff Janna faces between building pure AP or damage is playstyle alongside cooldowns. Pure AP Janna works great when ahead but has issues coming back into the game when behind.

Aery is hands down the best keystone rune for Janna. As the go-to rune for almost all healing supports, Aery provides extra damage and barrier which work excellently for supporting teammates.
For secondary runes, weakness works great. Janna’s second ability slows champions, and her first ability knocks them up. These are perfect for increasing allies’ damage. Loyalty helps save the ADC and Pathfinder helps Janna move swiftly around the map.
In terms of summoner spells, Janna should always take flash. The other summoner spell, Ignite, Exhaust, and heal all work great. For those looking to be more aggressive, build ignite to help execute kills and deny healing on the enemy team.
If the ally ADC is insistent on taking barrier, taking heal will help Janna survive and keep others alive. Exhaust denies enemy carries from dealing maximum damage.

Rod of Ages is a secret OP item in Wild Rift. The scaling and base stats on the item are excellent, allowing for squishy champions to gain survivability and damage all in one item. This item denies the enemy team from capitalizing on the weakness of most AP champions: their fragility.
Rod of Ages may seem a strange pick for Janna, but do not knock it before trying it.

Harmonic Echo is quite an interesting item. The item is a go-to for healing supports, but knowing how to utilize the item is essential to maximizing the usage of it.
The passive only procs when healing or shielding an ally other than Janna, so Janna should not use her third ability on herself if she wants to yield the results of it. This makes it so sticking close to ally champions is a must for Janna, which also fortifies her rune choice: loyalty.
The passive spills out healing to 3 nearby allied champions, which includes Janna herself. Harmonic Echo allows Janna to heal herself using her third ability, and considering the cool down on the ability is very short, Janna’s survivability is quite strong.

Protector’s Vow increases Janna’s survivability a great amount. The game has a lot of burst damage, most of which can one-shot Janna. This item gives armor, health, and a passive that helps prevent that.
Her biggest weakness is greatly strengthened with this item, and the shield the item provides scales off of AP as well. This makes the item surprisingly effective to protect allies.

Rabadon’s Deathcap is very strong on Janna, but also very expensive. The extra AP scaling allows her ultimate to heal a phenomenal amount. A Janna with Rabadon’s Deathcap can press R and survive all the burst of Zed when at full health.
But because Rabadon’s Deathcap is very expensive, build Rabadon’s only when sitting on a very hefty amount of gold.
As one of the most versatile supports in the game right now, Janna can build many different items. Know her weaknesses and strengths to abuse her in Patch 1.1, adjusting to various matchups and threats on the enemy team.
Keep in mind the key item notes, and what items synergize best with her.
