The newest addition to Wild Rift is decently strong. Not overly busted, but prevalent enough to warrant the ban pick in a lot of ranked games. Ekko plays as both as a jungler or mid laner, dealing AP damage to burst down squishy targets. To help players understand and master the pick, here is a Wild Rift Ekko Build. Keep in mind, this build serves more as a base template than a required must takes.

Runes
As the keystone rune, take either Electrocute or Fleet Footwork. These both work wonderfully with the champion, but each serves a slightly different purpose. Electrocute ensures burst damage, while Fleet Footwork allows Ekko to run a bit faster, while sustaining and dealing more damage on his first initial hit. The Fleet Footwork thereby synergizes with his third ability, Phase Dive.
Now time to get into the secondary runes, starting with the Domination Tree. Take Gathering Storms, for all sakes and purposes. Ekko definitely prefers this particular rune, as he loves to scale and deal more damage in the later stages of the game rather than the very beginning.
For the Resolve Tree, choose whichever rune best suits the players’ playstyle. This one is far more flexible, since at the moment a lot of different runes seem to function rather well as a whole. Some recommended ones are Nullifying Orb, Ultimate Shield, and Adaptive Carapace.
Items
One of Ekko’s Core items is Lich Bane. The item ensures maximizing his damage on Ekko’s Phase Dive. Therefore, Lich Bane is almost always a great item to prioritize. For those looking for more mid to late game scaling, and a slower playstyle in the early game, Rod of Ages also works wonders. For the rest of the build, go conventional AP. In essence, Rabadon’s Deathcap, Ludens Echo, Void Staff, and Morello.
Now players may be wondering which boots serve Ekko best. This is easily the Lucidity Boots, alongside the Protobelt Enchant. The extra dash comes in extra clutch when catching up to enemies.
Skill Upgrade Priority
Time Winder (first ability)>Phase Dive (third ability)>Parallel Convergence (second ability)
Needless to say, upgrade his ultimate ability whenever possible.
In Conclusion
Hopefully this Wild Rift Ekko Build provided some base information to build upon. Of course, for those looking for more in depth analysis, check out the video above. RiftGuides’ Kerxx does an excellent job of analyzing the champion, while providing incredibly useful tips as well. Also, a lot of the information here was based on the top ranked Ekko players in Asia. Therefore, they’re sure to be pretty reliable.
