Many of the speculations surrounding Akshan have rung to be true: He is a solo lane marksman, he is releasing on Wild Rift, Legends of Runeterra, and League of Legends simultaneously, and he is a sentinel of light. Even his name and character design seem exact to the leaks from a couple of weeks ago, begging the question, what does the champion actually do?

Dirty Fighting – Akshan’s passive is essentially like Vayne’s silver bolts. Every third attack on a target deals extra damage, but unlike Vayne, Akshan’s passive stacks on more than a single target, and is not limited to auto attacks only to stack the passive. If the third passive is popped on a champion, Akshan gains a small shield, while every second attack the sentinel throws out deals slightly reduced damage. Canceling this second shot grants him a small movement speed buff.
First Ability
Avengerang – Avengerang performs similarly to Sivir boomerang, dealing damage both on the way out and on the way in. The more enemy units it passes through, the longer the range of the skill. In addition, Avengerang can also stack Dirty Fighting, so utilizing the skill properly to maximize damage will be key to understanding the Akshan pick.
Going Rogue – This skill seems absolutely busted. The initial usage of the skill grants camouflage, remaining indefinitely as long as he is near terrain, allowing him to sneak up on unsuspecting enemy targets. He gains extra mana regeneration and movement speed when walking towards specific enemy units called Scoundrels. But that is not the most ridiculous part. Those who kill Askhan’s allies are marked as Scoundrels, and if Akshan takes down a Scoundrel, all allies slain by the Scoundrel respawn instantly. Oh, and he also gains extra gold from the takedown. Playing around this unique respawn ability is sure to change the tides of the game.
Heroic Swing – Heroic Swing is Akshan’s spiderman ability, allowing him to swing from terrain to gain extra mobility. Casting the ability twice allows Akshan to shoot his gun, prioritizing enemy champions. Takedowns reset the cooldown on the ability, meaning the Sentinel will have strong snowball potential.
Comeuppance – By charging the skill, Akshan gains bullets that he lets loose on his target. He can still use move around and use heroic swing while casting, allowing him to maneuver around the enemy for a better angle. The ability can be used on minions, champions, and turrets.
It is very hard to tell exactly how powerful the new champion will be. But, without a doubt, the addition of the Sentinels of Light will change up the pacing of Wild Rift. The new champions will add some much-needed excitement to spice up Wild Rift games.
