The brand new Wild Rift patch notes are here, debuting the sewer rat Twitch alongside the next season of ranked! This means more ranked season rewards, gameplay updates, and of course meta changes. The brand new champion is a stealthy marksmen who utilizes his invisibility to surprise enemies. Wild Rift Twitch’s base kit relies on his damage over time, which are applied by his abilities and basic attacks. Attack more, and proc more damage.
This creates a playstyle which rewards prudent positioning and timing, allowing Twitch to hyper carry teamfights when utilized properly. Combo Twitch’s hyper carry playstyle with a competent support, and the marksmen easily dominates games — just be wary of pink wards.
The brand new ranked season is here, marking the ninth season of Wild Rift. As usual, there is no clear end date for the new season. But expect it to last around three months, as most Wild Rift ranked seasons do. It’s likely Riot has yet to determine an exact end date themselves, as they love to adjust the specific day to match their own schedule at the time.
As for Legendary Rank, it’s not open quite yet. The normal ranked queues are fully functional, but Wild Rift Legendary Queue opens up at different times for each region. Check the official patch notes for the exact timings.
This time around, Legendary Queue is only available upon reaching Master rank — as compared to Diamond IV in the previous seasons. The change should allow for a higher barrier of entry, thereby hopefully increasing competitive integrity within the game mode. In addition, players must maintain Diamond IV or above in the normal ranked queue to be eligible to continue queuing in Legendary Ranked.
