Pokémon Champions looks to be a new lovechild that combines Pokémon games of old, reminiscent of Pokémon Stadium. In this new game, battles will be at the forefront with more ways than ever to duke it out with your Pokémon, regardless of what game you caught them on. But, when does Pokémon Champions come out? Here’s everything we know about its release date, gameplay, and what to expect.
The release date of Pokémon Champions is still currently unknown, as developers have only indicated that the game is, “in development.”
However, Pokémon Legends Z-A is set to release late in 2025, so our initial theory is that Pokémon Champions may release in Q2 of 2025, or around the middle of the summer. However, this is currently just speculation and we will have to wait for an official word on this from Pokémon. This game could just as easily be in very early development and may come later in the year.

Pokémon Champions is a new game coming to the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices that will allow players to battle with Pokémon from games like Pokémon Go, Pokémon Home, and Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. The game will feature Mega Evolutions and looks to be reminiscent of Pokémon Stadium games of old, with the emphasis on the battle arena versus anything open world or exploratory. This should be exciting news for fans of the franchise who want a deeper dive into battling and honing their skills.
This was all confirmed and initially announced during the 2025 Pokémon Day announcement video, which you can see below.
