Vikings and Diggs agree to 5-year extension

The Minnesota Vikings and wide receiver Stefon Diggs have agreed on a five-year extension according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo.

Diggs’ deal will be worth a total value of $81 million with over $40 million in guaranteed money according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. This will be a significant upgrade for Diggs, who is set to make $1.9 million this season.

The former fifth-round pick has shown a lot of promise in his three seasons with the Vikings. He has 200 receptions and 2,472 receiving yards in his career. Diggs will be a big part of the offense going forward with Kirk Cousins under center.

He has already etched his name in the history books for the Vikings. His performance in the NFC Divisional Round will have him remembered forever. Trailing the Saints by one point with ten seconds left, Diggs caught a pass and was able to miraculously stay in bounds and not get tackled. Diggs took the ball to the end zone to advance the Vikings to the NFC Championship.
