Just four days after revealing the addition of Michael “shroud” Grzesiek, VALORANT Sentinels dropped the announcement that Jordan “Zellsis” Montemurro would also be joining the team. Zellsis is another former CS:GO player. He retired in September of 2020 to experiment with a career in VALORANT. He’s played for Orgles5 (now defunct) and Version1. His most played agent is Raze, but he’s shown proficiency with every role.

Zellsis has been playing competitively since 2016, and has been playing VALORANT since release. Zellsis is no stranger to giving it his all. He won first place with his Counter-Strike team, Swole Patrol, at the ESEA Cash Cup in 2020. In 2021, he reached VCT Stage 2 Masters with Version1, where he tied for fifth and sixth place. Although he has yet to champion an A-Tier or higher tournament, he will now be playing with the likes of legends Tyson “TenZ” Ngo and Michael “shroud” Grzesiek.

Since the start of the season, the Sentinels have been in a mess. They were missing Jay “sinatraa” Won, Jared “zombs” Gitlin was benched at his own behest, SicK took an extended leave of absence and even Tyson “TenZ” Ngo caught Covid-19 and had to sit out a game. During Challengers Two, they failed to win a single game and were bumped out of the running entirely. It was only a stroke of luck that Sentinels managed to qualify for the Last Chance Qualifiers. This August, LCQ will pit the bottom-scoring teams against each other for the last slot at Champions.
With their new additions and their in-between-tournaments bootcamp, the Sentinels are pulling themselves together for a comeback. The only question is, with the new members joining just a month before LCQ, will they have enough time to prepare?
