The wait for the games to begin will not be long as VALORANT Champions will be starting at the very beginning of December. Thus, they need to get the Last Chance Qualifiers done so that the winning teams can travel and quarantine in a timely manner.
For EU, APAC and SA, their Last Chance Qualifiers will be starting a bit earlier than North America’s. They will be starting on October 10 and 11 respectively. Then the North American VALORANT Last Chance Qualifiers Start date will be Tuesday, October 12.
The teams participating at the North American Last Chance Qualifiers will be as follows.
This will be a double-elimination tournament with only one of these eight teams making it to VALORANT Champions. To say that the pressure will be high might be an understatement.
Considering this has been the first year of VALORANT competitive esports, many would mark it as a success. It is clear as well that they are following a similar model to what their sister game, League of Legends, has set forth for their esport. Fans can likely expect another year or two of tournaments and then it feels like instead of following the CSGO format, they will do a full-on league for teams to join.
Either way, the beginnings of VALORANT Esports has been interesting to watch and the VALORANT LCQs should be no different.
