Every six months, VALORANT enters a new Episode. With each passing comes new content, changes, and usually a cinematic. VALORANT Episode 5, entitled “DIMENSION” is the next, and is slated to be released soon. Here are the date and times that DIMENSION will be added to VALORANT, as well as a preview of what’s to come.
VALORANT has been teasing DIMENSION with a series of watery-themed posts on their twitter, coinciding with the upcoming map, Pearl. Pearl will be the eighth map, but will be traded for Split in the Competitive and Casual Queue. Pearl will have its own queue for the first two weeks, while players get acquainted with the new map. Then, it will be released fully into the competitive map rotation. Split will still be available in alternate game modes, but won’t appear in competitive or casual queue.

With every act comes a new battlepass, and this one is no different. When the update launches, players will have 100 new items to earn. The battlepass includes skins, player cards, titles and gun buddies. Some of these items can be gained for free, but most will be included in the premium battlepass. The premium battlepass will be priced at 1,000R, or $9.99.
All competitive ranks are reset during each new Episode. As per usual, players will have to work their way back up to the top. This time, however, things will be a little different. Coming with VALORANT Episode 5 is a new competitive rank called “Ascendant.” Ascendant is above Diamond and below Immortal, and is intended to help evenly distribute the higher end of the skill curve.
VALORANT released a new cinematic to celebrate the launch of DIMENSION, as well as the new map, Pearl. It’s exciting, and already up on youtube.
