His past career in CS:GO lasted four years, playing for Slow Motion, Exertus eSports, Manajuma, compLexity and Cloud9. Although he would leave to pursue streaming in 2017, shroud would transition to playing VALORANT for some notable events. In 2020, shroud would be the team captain for the T1 x NSG Invitational, famously defeating Sentinels in the Lower Bracket. The last competition shroud would compete in would be the VCT NA Stage 3: Challengers 2 in 2021. His team, What’s going on, would be eliminated in the Round of 64 0-2 against ez5, ending their tournament run.
Beginning the year invited to Challengers 1, Sentinels went 3-2 in Group B, before dropping out of playoffs 0-2 against The Guard and 1-2 to Version1. Fighting through the open qualifier, Sentinels would make it into Challengers 2, but perform even worse. In Group B, they would end up in last place with a 0-5 record. With only one map victory in the entirety of Challengers 2 to their 1-2 loss against Luminosity Gaming, their fate for the LCQ was out of their hands. Ghost Gaming’s 0-2 playoffs run against Evil Geniuses and NRG locked Sentinels in as NA’s 10th place team at 45 Circuit Points to Ghost’s 35.
The North America Last Chance Qualifier will take place on August 2022, featuring the top eight teams by Circuit Points. As the eighth seed, shroud and Sentinels will play in the LCQ to represent as North America in Champions. They will be joined by The Guard, Faze Clan, Cloud9, Luminosity Gaming, NRG, 100 Thieves and Evil Geniuses. The winner of the qualifier will join OpTic Gaming and XSET as the North American representatives for Champions Istanbul 2022.
