G2 Sign Mixwell as Captain of their VALORANT Team

Publish Date: June 16, 2020

Continuing today’s VALORANT news, G2 Esports have signed Oscar “Mixwell” Cañellas Colocho as the first member of their VALORANT team. He will also be heading up the team as its Captain. This announcement comes after Riot Games announced its new tournament “Ignition Series” that also has G2 partnering to host the G2 European Brawl.

Mixwell joins many other former CS:GO pros that are leaving the game for VALORANT. He has already been participating in tournaments and fits what G2 are looking for when starting their VALORANT team. G2 CEO Carlos “ocelote” Rodriguez made it apparent that they had been after Mixwell for a bit.

“VALORANT really is an amazing game I enjoy both playing and watching. G2 will have a World Championship winning team and it all starts with Mixwell. Many top organizations fought hard for him and we are delighted he’s put so much trust into letting us build a killer lineup alongside him. Now you mfers stop poaching him already.”- CEO Carlos “ocelote” rodriguez

Clearly Mixwell has been a much-coveted player during this process. It makes sense for him to sign with one of the biggest European esports organizations. G2 also have old ties with Mixwell as he was on their CS:GO roster for a spell as well.

When asked about joining G2, Mixwell had this to say:

“G2’s history shows that they are competitive in every game they’ve been part of and their content is also top, most of my fans are also G2 fans so it makes even more sense for me. The goal is to be the best VALORANT team in the world and I want to be the best player in the game, have fun representing the fans around the world, and I am sure we can do it together.”

Now it will be interesting to see who else G2 pick up to go along with the former CS:GO veteran. For all VALORANT roster news, analysis and more keep it here at The Game Haus.
