Masters 2 Copenhagen has finished the first round of matches in the Playoffs Stage. All three seeds of EMEA qualified for the playoffs, facing off against each other in two matches. FunPlus Phoenix defeated Guild Esports 2-1 in the Lower Bracket, eliminating them from Masters 2. With Guild only earning 250 Circuit Points, Fnatic and FunPlus Phoenix lock in spots at Champions 2022 Istanbul.

    Stage 1

The 2022 VCT had Fnatic and FPX at the top of their respective groups, qualifying to the Upper Semifinals of the playoffs. The two teams would meet in the Upper Final, where FPX would win 2-0 to send Fnatic to the Lower Final. G2 Esports would then knock Fnatic out 3-0, before falling to FPX 1-3, deciding seeding for Masters 1 Reykjavík. Fnatic would be eliminated in the Groups Stage in eleventh place by ZETA DIVISION 0-2, earning 125 Circuit Points. For FPX, they would be unable to attend Masters 1 due to travel restrictions, but earn 200 Circuit Points as the default eighth place prize.

    Stage 2

Fnatic and FPX would fight in the same group this stage, with Fnatic coming out on top with a 5-0 record, compared to FPX’s 3-2. The two teams would fight twice more, once in the Upper Semifinals and again in the Grand Finals, with Fnatic winning both times. This set them as the number one and two seeds of EMEA going into Masters 2 Copenhagen. Guild Esports would also join as the third seed, with all teams qualifying to the Playoffs. In the first round match, Fnatic would again defeat FPX 2-0, securing an Upper Semifinals spot and at minimum 300 Circuit Points. In the Lower Bracket, FPX would defeat Guild Esports 2-1 to eliminate them from the tournament. This would earn FPX a minimum of 300 Circuit Points as well, with Guild exiting at 250 points for the event.

With Fnatic and FPX attending both international events, they sit uncontested at the top of EMEA’s Circuit Points. Guild Esports missed the opportunity to overtake one of the teams with their elimination from Masters 2. Guild will now compete in the EMEA Last Chance Qualifier for the third seed at Champions 2022 Istanbul. For EMEA, Fnatic and FunPlus Phoenix stand at the top for Champions 2022 Istanbul. They both proceed in Masters 2 Copenhagen with their seeding still undecided. The Circuit Points at the end of the event will decide who is the number one and number two seeds.
