A List of Possible Champions for TFT Set 3

Publish Date: January 13, 2020

The announcement of TFT Set 3 like the sets before, will be based on skin lines. With the knowledge that it will have the Project, Star Guardian, Odyssey and Pulsefire skin lines here is a list of all of the potential champions and then some thoughts on which ones are most likely for each.

Note: Champions that are Bold were seen in the announcement video likely confirming that they are in the set.

Project

  • Akali
  • Ashe
  • Ekko
  • Fiora
  • Jhin
  • Jinx
  • Katarina
  • Leona
  • Lucian
  • Master Yi
  • Pyke
  • Vayne
  • Vi
  • Warwick
  • Yasuo
  • Zed

Looking at the Project skins there are a lot of different ways that they could go. Many of them are sword users, so one would have to think that Blademasters may make their third set appearance. If that is the case look for Fiora, Katarina, Leona and Yi. There are not many crossovers in terms of the other skin lines, that are confirmed so far, and this one so any of these champs could make it.

Ekko would also make sense as he is the only one that has not been in the game yet on this list. Ashe, Leona, Lucian, Vayne and Zed have all have already been in the first two sets, so it would be surprising to see all of them making it in Set 3. With that, taking out Ashe and Lucian seems pretty likely. This would be the first time Vayne has a different skin so they could possibly bring her in. Overall this skin line should see a good amount of champions and most likely will have at least two connected with Blademaster as Fiora seems to have been confirmed.

Star Guardian

  • Ahri
  • Ezreal
  • Janna
  • Jinx
  • Lulu
  • Lux
  • Miss Fortune
  • Neeko
  • Poppy
  • Rakan
  • Soraka
  • Syndra
  • Xayah
  • Zoe

Many people have been wondering when Star Guardians would make it in. Now seems to be the time. This skin line has a lot of champions and potentially even more coming. Poppy was the one champion shown during the announcement so it will be interesting to have her back in the game. There are also a lot of mage or sorcerer type champions so a combination of Ahri, Lulu, Lux, Soraka, Syndra or Zoe could make it in.

It is worth noting that Ezreal seems unlikely here as he was the first Pulsefire skin. Also spoiler for the section below but Jinx was already seen with the Odyssey line so it is doubtful that her Star Guardian form will make it. When looking at repeats Ahri, Ezreal Janna, Lulu, Lux, Miss Fortune, Neeko, Poppy, Soraka and Syndra could be coming back. That makes it feel like Rakan, Xayah and Zoe have a chance as they would be brand new. With the fact that Rakan and Xayah are so intertwined it almost seems like they have to be in like Senna and Lucian were. Zoe would bring some interesting abilities to the table as well. Of all the champions available here the star-crossed duo of Xayah and Rakan make the most sense along with Poppy and at least a few of the mage/sorcerer types.

Odyssey

  • Jinx
  • Kayn
  • Malphite
  • Sona
  • Yasuo
  • Zed
  • Ziggs

This is the smallest skin line of the four. It makes it seem likely that only two to a maximum of four will make it in. As stated above, Jinx was shown so she likely makes it. When looking at repeat offenders Malphite, Yasuo and Zed have all been in at least one set with Yas and Zed being in both one and two. If Blademasters are coming back then Kayn and Yasuo could slice their way in.

When looking at champions who haven’t made it before, Kayn, Sona and Ziggs could bring a lot to the game in terms of abilities. There will likely be healers or supports of some type so Sona has a solid chance because of champions like Soraka, Janna, Lulu and Rakan. Also Ziggs could fit into the mages/sorcerers. When taking a stab at it, Jinx, Kayn, Sona, Yasuo and Ziggs seem to have the best chance of making it in.

Pulsefire

  • Caitlyn
  • Ezreal
  • Fiddlesticks
  • Graves
  • Riven
  • Shen
  • Thresh
  • Twisted Fate

Pulsefire brings a very interesting group of champions with it. Shen was shown in the video so he could be making it back as a Blademaster/Guardian or Tank type champion. Ezreal as stated before was the first Pulsefire so it would be surprising if he didn’t make it in. When thinking about it, Gunslingers or another type of gun synergy makes sense as well with Jinx coming back.

Champions that have already had appearances are Caitlyn, Ezreal, Graves, Shen, Thresh and Twisted Fate. That leaves Fiddlesticks and Riven as the lone champions to never have been in the game. Riven is extremely popular so it would be surprising along with the fact that Blademasters could be back if she didn’t make it. Also with the Fiddlesticks rework coming soon it would make sense for him to make it too. That means that if Pulsefire had four champions in its synergy then Ezreal, Fiddlesticks, Riven and Shen could comprise this skin line.

Set 3 seems to have a completely different feel and theme than Rise of the Elements already. It would be cool to see different champions making their way into the game. With that this list really only has about 35 champions so even if they added all of them, they would only make up about half of a full set. It will be interesting to see what other potential skin lines could make it into Set 3 with the space theme. Could Teemo finally see his time in TFT with his Astronaut skin or Heimerdinger with his Alien skin? Who knows but make sure to keep it here as more information becomes available.
