During the latest Nintendo Direct, Pyra and Mythra from Xenoblade Chronicles was revealed to be the new character to join the Super Smash Brothers roster. This reveal comes a bit out of left field as many had not been expecting more characters from Xenoblade Chronicles to be coming to the game. They join Shulk as representatives from the game. Here are some pictures from the official reveal.

After doing a lot of research and looking at the patterns of release dates for fighters in Super Smash Brothers, it seems as though option one from the TGH piece about the next Smash character’s release is the most likely. That was confirmed in the Pyra and Mythra reveal trailer that they would be coming in March.
The interesting part about this is that normally Nintendo reveals their next character and they are available basically right after the trailer. This time, it seems as though Super Smash Brothers fans will have to wait instead. The wait won’t be long though. As of the writing of this piece, there are only less than two weeks left in February and thus, he should be out within the next couple of weeks.
If one does not have the second Fighter Pass, they are missing out on Min-Min from Arms, Steve from Minecraft and Sephiroth from Final Fantasy. They can grab this fighter pass and get the next five new fighters including the three previously mentioned and Pyra and Mythra.
