Week 16 Predictions

NFL Week 16 Predictions

Saturday, Dec. 22

Washington Redskins vs Tennessee Titans: The Redskins have a third-string quarterback in and the defense has definitely fallen flat but they found a way to win and stay alive in the playoffs. But Marcus Mariotta and Derrick Henry have been hot and their defense has been able to create turnovers. Ten 23 Wash 17

MVP Candidate Phillip Rivers (Denver post)

Baltimore Ravens vs Los Angeles Chargers: Lamar Jackson has done so well that head coach Jon Harbaugh
benched Joe Flacco. Their defense is strong and is able to stop teams in the clutch. The Chargers have a potential MVP under center and an all-around strong team. They took down the Chiefs who were undefeated at home before last Thursday. Bal 20 LAC 30

Sunday, Dec. 23

1:00 p.m.

Cincinnati Bengals vs Cleveland Browns: The Browns are hot and have looked like a team be scared of and not a team that had no wins last season. The Bengals missing their starting quarterback and star wide receiver won’t be able to handle this all-around team. Can 17 CLE 28

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Dallas Cowboys: Dallas got a reality check getting shut out for the first time since 2003. Dallas being back at home isn’t good for the Bucs. TB 17 DAL 27

Minnesota Vikings vs Detroit Lions: The Vikings are still trying to keep their playoff hopes alive, but Kirk Cousins hasn’t been leading the team as the Vikings hoped. Matt Stafford and the Lions are unpredictable but they’re better at home then people think. Min 21 Det 23

Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots: Pats are coming off two horrible losses, but they are looking to secure the AFC East title and stay at five losses. The Bills are a questionable team and won’t be able to keep up at Gillette Stadium. Buf 10 Pats 28

Green Bay Packers vs New York Jets: Green Bay lost their playoff hopes last week but are still looking to win an away game this season. Aaron Rodgers will play and the Jets will fall short of another win. GB 27 NYJ 17

Houston Texans vs Philadelphia Eagles: The Eagles tore apart the Rams on SNF. Nick Foles showed he is the quarterback who should be playing. The Texans have won 10 of the last 11. They sit as the second seed right now with the first round bye but any slip up could give that away. The banged-up secondary for the Eagles had a good game but a slip-up os possible against Deandre Hopkins and Demaryius Thomas. Hou 27 Phi 24

Atlanta Falcons vs Carolina Panthers: Cam Newton and the Panthers gave away the ball game on Monday. The Falcons don’t look anything like their Super Bowl team. The Panthers slim chances of the playoffs ride on this win. Atl 20 Car 23

New York Giants vs Indianapolis Colts: The Giants looked strong then fell flat last week. The Colts at home and Andrew Luck at the top of his game is a hard hump to get over. NYG 20 IND 27

Jacksonville Jaguars vs Miami Dolphins: Jacksonville has fallen apart after Week 4 of the season. Every player is just looking forward to next season and hoping to move past this one. The Dolphins blew it against the Vikings Last week but will keep their playoff chances alive. Jags 13 Mia 20

4:05 / 4:25 p.m.

Los Angeles Rams vs Arizona Cardinals: Two losses in a row for the Rams puts them a game back of the home field advantage. The Cardinals have three wins and each one they have looked strong but only one has come at home. The defense will be too much for Josh Rosen. LAR 33 Ari 13

Bears ILB Khalil Mack (Chicago Tribune)

Chicago Bears vs San Fransisco 49ers: Chicago wrapped up the NFC North with their win against the Packers last week. The 49ers stole a win against the Seahawks last week but Mack and Co. will be too much for rookie Nick Mullens, even at home. Chi 23 SF 10

Pittsburgh Steelers vs New Orleans Saints: A win over the Pats last week kept their lead in the AFC North but only by half a game. Drew Brees and the Saints at home is a hard task to take on in the Superdome. Pitt 26 NO 30

8:20 p.m.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Seattle Seahawks: The Chiefs are coming off their third loss of the season, first at home. The Seahawks took a hard loss to the 49ers, making the team look like a little less of a threat than the NFL fans thought. The fight for a playoff spot and controlling the home field advantage is real. An explosive offense will overtake this decent defense. KC 28 Sea 21

Monday, Dec. 24

Denver Broncos vs Oakland Raiders: Oakland had a good week holding off the Steelers in Week 14 but got stinger by the Bengals last week. Broncos fell to the Browns last week and looked like a team that shouldn’t be in the playoff race. Carr is unable to throw away the ball when needed or get out of sacks. Although he has no interceptions in the last nine game, Denver’s defense will overcome this team on the road. Den 24 Oak 13
