UCLA has decided to fire head coach Steve Alford and buy out his contract. The possibility of this happening was first reported by FS1’s Jason McIntyre.

Alford has been the coach at UCLA for five and a half seasons, posting a 187-123 record in his tenure at the school. He made four NCAA Tournaments at UCLA, but was only able to reach the Sweet 16, which he did in three of the four appearances
This season UCLA has a 7-6 record with four straight losses. Their losing streak includes losses to Belmont, Cincinnati, Ohio State and Liberty.
There has not yet been an announcement on who will coach the team for the rest of the season.
