Tyson Pedro Retires From UFC After Loss Against Vitor Petrino

Publish Date: March 13, 2024

Another beloved athlete on the UFC roster said goodbye to the sport just last week. Sydney, Australia’s Tyson Pedro took his gloves off for the final time, after suffering a unanimous decision loss to Vitor Petrino. Pedro trained out of the infamous, City Kickboxing. Located in Auckland, New Zealand, the gym is home to UFC stars Dan Hooker and former two-time UFC middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya. Pedro’s bout against Petrino was his 15th professional fight, and 11th inside the UFC octagon. No one would ever wish to end their career on a loss, however this is the reality that is mixed martial arts. It continues to show fans how humbling and unforgiving the sport can be at times.

Looking Back on Tyson Pedro’s UFC Career:

Out of his eleven bouts in the UFC, Pedro won six, all by way of knockout or submission. He was never a world champion, nor a title contender. However, if there’s one thing certain about Pedro, it’s that he’s a fighter. Each & every time he stepped into the octagon, he fought with pride and courage. In times of victory & defeat, he was always a humble guy and showed respect towards his opponent. Hopefully one day, the UFC is filled with athletes like Tyson Pedro. Fans around the world continue to wish nothing but the best for Pedro and his future endeavors outside of mixed martial arts.
