The college football season is approaching. There is always debate over ranking the best players in the sport. Here are the top 25 college football cornerbacks heading into the 2024 season.
Note: While projection of what a player can be is considered, most rankings are from what has been seen on the field. These are not NFL Draft rankings, but rather focus on the best players in college football.

25. Toriano Pride, Missouri Tigers
Pride suited up for Clemson early in his career and now is playing for Missouri. He has one interception and eight passes defended in his career.
24. Daylen Everette, Georgia Bulldogs
Everette stepped in for Georgia after several players left for the NFL. He had five passes defended and one interception last season.
23. Zy Alexander, LSU Tigers
After starting his career at Southeastern Louisiana, Alexander suited up for LSU last season. He totaled two interceptions and seven passes defended in his first year for the Tigers.
22. Myles Purchase, Iowa State Cyclones
Purchase is a weird case, as he has no career interceptions, but had 15 passes defended last season. He will look to pick off his first pass this season, as he helps Iowa State compete in a bigger Big 12.
21. Sebastian Castro, Iowa Hawkeyes
Castro could be a safety or a corner, but either way he is productive. He had three interceptions and eight passes defended last season.

20. Zemaiah Vaughn, Utah Utes
Vaughn is a former walk-on who has developed well over his four seasons in college. Last season, he had one interceptions and six passes defended.
19. Mello Dotson, Kansas Jayhawks
Dotson has played a lot of football for Kansas, but 2023 was his best season yet. He totaled four interceptions, 11 passes defended and two touchdowns for the Jayhawks.
18. Jahdae Barron, Texas Longhorns
Barron is another experienced corner who has played a lot of football. He had one interception and six passes defended last season as he helped the Longhorns make the CFP.
17. Gentry Williams, Oklahoma Sooners
Williams showed his talent in his sophomore season, as he came down with three interceptions. Now, he will help Oklahoma by guarding some of the SEC’s best receivers.
16. Davison Igbinosun, Ohio State Buckeyes
After starting his career at Ole Miss, Igbinosun transferred to Ohio State for last season. He was a key part of a great defense, racking up five passes defended.

15. Justin Walley, Minnesota Golden Gophers
Walley has been a great player for Minnesota ever since he was a freshman. In three seasons, he has five interceptions and 17 passes defended.
14. Ephesians Prysock, Washington Huskies
Prysock played for Arizona last season and now is following Jedd Fisch to Washington. At Arizona, he had one interception and seven passes defended last season.
13. Quincy Riley, Louisville Cardinals
Riley hauled in three interceptions and had 10 passes defended last season for Louisville. They had a good first season in the Jeff Brohm era, but Riley can help lead them to more success in 2024.
12. Aydan White, NC State Wolfpack
Over the last few seasons White has shown great ball production. He has eight interceptions and 25 passes defended in his college career.
11. Fentrell Cypress, Florida State Seminoles
Cypress played at Virginia to start his career and then transferred to Florida State for last season. He eight passes defended for the Seminoles in 2023.

10. Maxwell Hairston, Kentucky Wildcats
Hairston didn’t do much in his first season at Kentucky, but had an excellent season in 2023. He finished the year with five interceptions and six passes defended.
9. Dorian Strong, Virginia Tech Hokies
Virginia Tech has had a constant at corner in Strong over the last few years. He tallied three interceptions and eight passes defended in 2023.
8. Ricardo Hallman, Wisconsin Badgers
Hallman has shown a nose for the football during his Wisconsin career. He had seven interceptions and five passes defended in 2023.
7. Cobee Bryant, Kansas Jayhawks
Bryant has an iconic name, but also has some game to back it up. In three years at Kansas he has nine interceptions and 15 passes defended.
6. Tacario Davis, Arizona Wildcats
Davis made plenty of plays on the ball last season for Arizona. He finished the year with 15 passes defended and one interception.

5. Jabbar Muhammad, Oregon Ducks
Muhammad has played at Oklahoma State and Washington, but now will be playing for Oregon. His play helped Washington make the CFP, as he totaled three interceptions and 16 passes defended.
4. Denzel Burke, Ohio State Buckeyes
Burke has been an impact player for Ohio State since his freshman season. As he enters his senior year, Burke has two interceptions and 26 passes defended in his career.
3. Benjamin Morrison, Notre Dame Fighting Irish
He has only played two seasons in college, but Morrison has made a huge impression. The junior has nine interceptions and 14 passes defended in his career.
2. Travis Hunter, Colorado Buffaloes
Hunter has captivated fans with his two-way playing. He is good on both sides of the ball, but is best as a corner. In his first year with Colorado, he had three interceptions and five passes defended.
1. Will Johnson, Michigan Wolverines
Johnson has been a shutdown corner for Michigan in his two seasons. He helped the Wolverines win the National Championship last season with four interceptions and four passes defended.
