Tiger Woods removed from crash with jaws of life

Publish Date: February 23, 2021

15-time major champion Tiger Woods has reportedly been involved in a single-car crash that took place on Tuesday morning. Little information is known about the details of the accident, other than Tiger has suffered some injuries and is now in a Los Angeles-area hospital.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has released a statement regarding the crash, which took place 7:12am PT, via their Twitter account.

As the statement says, he was removed from a badly damaged vehicle with the “jaws of life.” Golf Digest’s Daniel Rapaport reported that Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, has released a short statement on behalf of Tiger.

“Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries. He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support.” The specifics of the leg injuries have not been confirmed, but the fact that he is in surgery implies some level of severity.
