More often than not you can watch your favorite NFL team play on Sunday on your local channels. These are channels that are available with no payments necessary. However, that week that your team plays Thursday Night Football is a downer. You will probably miss it unless you pay for the rather expensive NFL Network package. This is where the streaming service Twitch comes in for the win.
For 10 out of the remaining 11 Thursday night games, they will be streamed on Twitch. Prime Video teamed up with NFL Network to allow Prime members to stream Thursday night games a while ago. Amazon bought out Twitch, so they have taken it a step further than just Prime members. They are allowing you to watch your game on Twitch for FREE. Seriously.
Many fans want to pay for things such as NFL Network and NFL Sunday Ticket because of the convenience. Though with prices increasing yearly, even some of the most avid fans can no longer afford the packages. Even the app CBS All Access that you need to watch CBS if you do not have TV or reliable service is charging people $5.99 monthly for the service. That is not much of a cost, but it can add up quickly.
New NFL Twitch Emotes
With football costing more and more to watch each year, it is safe to say that fans appreciate Twitch coming through for NFL games. Thursday Night Football used to be hard to watch because of the price. Now it is easy to watch for free on nearly any platform. That may, in fact, be why they have moved to this new way of watching, but no matter the business strategy behind it, it benefits us all.
So on the next Thursday game, kick back and go to twitch.tv/primevideo to watch some Thursday Night Football magic. I am not sure that the NFL is ready for twitch chat, but they did add some cool emotes for anyone wanting to subscribe.
