Team USA 5×5 beat Australia, 85-64, Friday to advance to the gold medal game on Sunday. The US Olympic team has now won sixty straight Olympic matches.
There were many familiar faces on the court today playing against Team USA. However despite many of the Aussies playing in the WNBA, the USA showed no mercy dominating the entire game.
Jackie Young seems to have found a permanent spot in the starting lineup replacing Diana Taurasi again. Breanna Stewart finished with 16 points, Young had 14, Kahleah Copper had 11 and A’Ja Wilson had 10.
Meanwhile, Taurasi saw the least amount of time with only 6 minutes out of all USA players. She finished 0-2 with both her attempts coming from 3-point range, 1 rebound and 2 fouls.
For the Aussies only three people finished in double digit scoring figures and all were reserves. Isobel Borlase had 11, Marianna Tolo had 10 and Tess Madgen had 10.
