The San Diego Padres have acquired reliever Carl Edwards Jr. from the Chicago Cubs according to ESPN’s Jesse Rogers.

Edwards, 27, has been a key member of the bullpen for the Cubs since 2015, as he helped them win the World Series. This season, he has a 5.87 ERA in 20 games and has been demoted to Triple-A.
There are no details revealed yet about what the Cubs will receive in return.
