Baltimore Ravens left tackle Ronnie Stanley has elected to undergo season-ending ankle surgery. This will mark the second season in a row in which Stanley has had his season ended by an ankle injury. He played in just one game in 2021.
ESPN’s Field Yates reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Stanley was the sixth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, taken by the Ravens. Since then he has earned a First Team All-Pro selection and been a Pro Bowler. He was also ranked as the best pass-blocking left tackle in the NFL by Pro Football Focus in 2019.
Since signing his five-year, $112.8 million contract in the 2020 offseason, Stanley has played in only seven games. The Ravens now have 17 players on their injured reserve.
