The Game Haus will be analyzing the player ratings from Madden 20 of every NFL team. Madden has a daunting task of rating all NFL players and their attributes. While they have the ability to correct some of these rankings with in-season roster updates, there are some issues with some of the initial rankings of players. Here are the questionable Madden 20 ratings: Baltimore Ravens.
Michael Pierce- 92
Pierce has been a solid player in the middle of the defensive line for the Baltimore Ravens for a few seasons now. Playing on the interior doesn’t allow him to put up a lot of stats, as he is taking up blockers on a lot of plays. He had just four tackles for loss last season.
He is the third-highest-rated defensive tackle in the game, which is why his rating needs an adjustment. Pierce is good, but not that good. Given his good play, he should still be rated highly, but would better be rated a few points lower.
Adjusted Rating- 86
Justin Tucker- 87
Madden 20 did not rate kickers and punters favorably. Tucker, the highest-rated kicker in the game, was rated at an 87. It is smart that they made him the best kicker in the game, but he, and a few of the other kickers, should be rated higher.
In past games, it wasn’t uncommon to see kickers being ranked in the 90s. Tucker commands that respect this year.
Adjusted Rating- 95
Marlon Humphrey- 85
Humphrey is a good cornerback for the Ravens, but was rated as just the 19th best cornerback in the game. He is a shutdown corner who had two interceptions and 15 passes defended last year. His 85 overall rating is a little low for his output on the field last season.
While Humphrey doesn’t deserve to be ranked as one of the top 5 to 10 corners in the game, he does deserve a rating boost.
Adjusted Rating- 87
Mark Andrews- 79
Even though Andrews had a great rookie season and built a good rapport with Lamar Jackson, he was rated very low at a 79. In 2018 he had 34 catches for 552 yards and three touchdowns. With that production, he deserves a few extra points on his rating.
For reference, Benjamin Watson had 35 catches for 400 yards and two touchdowns and was rated at a 82. Andrews should have the same rating as Watson, especially because his career is just starting and Watson is nearing the end of his career.
Adjusted Rating- 82
