Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Picnics Revealed

Publish Date: October 6, 2022

The more modern Pokemon games have continued to try and bridge the gap between people and their virtual friends, aka their Pokemon. Scarlet and Violet are clearly going to be the same. This time it feels as though they are making additions and combining it with nearly everything else they have done in the past. Here is a look at Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Picnics.

In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players will be in the open world for the first time in a main series game. This means that there will be a lot of exploring and time in between to spend with their Pokemon. Picnics in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are a way to do that and more.

What was shown in the trailer was a number of different things that players can do to build bonds with their team and even affect aspects of the game like what Pokemon they see in the wild. This includes but is not limited to, as likely not everything was shown yet:

  • Washing/Cleaning
  • Playing and Hitting around a Soccer Ball/Futbol
  • Find an Egg in the player’s Basket
  • Make Sandwiches in a Mini-Game that can help a Player’s Pokemon and their chances at seeing certain types of Pokemon.
    • Players can get ingredients in the towns.

Again this is likely not everything but it is a good way for trainers to interact with their Pokemon. It certainly makes them feel as though they are forming a true bond with their partners.

It will be interesting to see just how much of an effect these Picnics will have in the game as well. Players will certainly find ways to have these help them find and shiny hunt specific Pokemon. Also, it will allow them to show off with pictures, specifically selfies, with their Pokemon team.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and Picnics will be coming out on November 18, 2022. Make sure to preorder and get ready for a brand new Pokemon adventure.
