In an unexpected but welcome surprise, the Pokemon company revealed an all-new game and potential series during its latest Pokemon Presents. Pokemon Legends Arceus was revealed as a game that would take players back in time where the first-ever Pokedex was made in the Sinnoh region. This came alongside the announcement for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Pokemon Shining Pearl. Here are some pictures from the reveal.

To say this game announcement came out of left field would be an understatement. It looks like a type of game fans have long been asking for, an open-world experience. They had been dabbling in it with Sword and Shield but not to this extent. It seems like the catching and battles will also be out in the open world.
This game will seemingly feature original prototype Pokeballs and a journal where players will have to record the Pokemon they see. The premise of completing the original Pokedex will surely excite fans.
To add onto this it will be interesting as well to see what Pokemon make it in this game. The starting choices are a mixture from multiple regions. Cyndaquil, Oshawott and Rowlet seemingly will be the choices that players have to choose from.
Whether this is an all-new series of mainline games or not is also to be seen. If it finds success there seems to be quite a bit the Pokemon company can do with these types of games.
