Philadelphia Eagles Week 12 Game Recap

Publish Date: November 30, 2022

The Philadelphia Eagles won a high scoring game this past Sunday as they beat the Green Bay Packers by a score of 40-33. This win improves the Eagles to 10-1 on the season. This article will recap the Philadelphia Eagles Week 12 game against the Green Bay Packers

The Eagles’ Offense

Jalen Hurts burned the Packers’ defense on the ground this past Sunday night. Hurts passed 100 yards rushing in the first quarter. He really took advantage of the Packers’ lackluster run defense. He finished the night with 157 yards on the ground and averaged 9.2 yards a carry. Hurts also had a good game through the air. He completed 16 of his 28 attempts and threw for 156 yards and two touchdowns. His first touchdown was a deep 30-yard pass to Quez Watkins in the endzone. This touchdown put the Eagles up by seven before halftime. Watkins has really become a more reliable explosive threat over the past couple of games.

Jalen Hurt’s second touchdown pass came early in the third quarter. He threw a six-yard touchdown pass to A.J. Brown that put the Eagles up by two touchdowns. A.J. Brown ended the night with 46 yards and that one touchdown pass. Devonta Smith led the Eagles with 50 receiving yards, but he did not put a touchdown on the board.

Jalen Hurts was not the only player that did damage on the ground for this Eagles team. Miles Sanders had a monster night. He had 143 yards rushing and two touchdowns in this game. Kenneth Gainwell also contributed a touchdown in this game. He ended the night with 39 yards rushing and averaged 4.9 yards a carry.

The Eagles Defense

The Eagles defense gave up a lot of points on Sunday night, which is not something the Eagles fans use. Aaron Rodgers found a way to keep up with that high-powered Eagles offense until he went down with an injury in the second half of the game. Rodgers threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns. He also had two interceptions in this game. Eagles rookie safety Reed Blankenship came up with one of those interceptions. He was also the Eagles leading tackler with six tackles. It will be interesting to see if Blankenship can keep being productive throughout the rest of this season. The other interception came from Josiah Scott, a fourth-round draft pick in 2020.

Not only did the Eagles get turnovers but they also managed to get three sacks throughout the game. Fletcher Cox and Josh Sweat accounted for two of those sacks. The third sack was a joint effort from Brandon Graham and Hasson Reddick. Overall, the Eagles’ defense made the plays they needed to make to win the game.

The Eagles next game will be against the Tennessee Titans this coming Sunday at one o’clock. This concludes this Philadelphia Eagles Week 12 game recap.
