The Steelers may not only lose their quarterback for Thursday Night Football, but they’ll also be without one of their best defensive players. Defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick is officially out with a hamstring injury.
The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
Fitzpatrick was acquired by the Steelers from the Miami Dolphins for a first rounder, a fifth rounder and a sixth rounder. Since arriving, he’s played and started in 68 games, collecting 17 interceptions, three forced fumbles and 353 total tackles.
He’s been a three-time Pro Bowler and three-time All-Pro in his career. This season alone, Fitzpatrick has two passes defended and 54 combined tackles, which would be just about on pace to give him the most tackles in a single season in his career.
