The Madden 22 ratings have finally been unveiled. As always, there are some questionable ratings for players on every single team. In this series, TGH writers will give their opinions on the most overrated and underrated players on each roster.
Here are the players on the Arizona Cardinals that have been the most underrated by Madden 22.
D.J. Humphries
Cardinals fans know well the path to maturity Humphries has taken. Going back to the days of being called “Knee Deep” by Bruce Arians, Humphries is now a reliable left tackle for Arizona. Last season, Humphries was Pro Football Focus’ seventh-best tackle in the NFL per Raising Zona. Adding more PFF praise, his total grade in 2020 was 88.3, allowing only three sacks that season.
Humphries could very well become a Pro Bowler this season, he has grown so much in the time he has been in the league. Honestly, the fact that he is not yet should be a sign he is not getting enough credit. Together with a Rodney Hudson-led offensive line, Humphries is bound for more success.

Jordan Hicks
Sure, Hicks may not necessarily be at the peak of his career. But at the same, time how can one look at the last two seasons and not think Hicks isn’t a tackling machine? Hicks tied with Budda Baker for most total tackles on the squad in 2020 (118). The veteran has done nothing but answer the call since arriving in Glendale.
Granted, Cardinals linebacker coach Bill Davis said he believes he overplayed Hicks in 2020. It would be impossible to play 1,133 straight snaps without fatigue affecting production. Nevertheless, Hicks proved himself as a vital piece of the Cardinals’ defense. He should figure strongly still as a substitute in 2021 provided he doesn’t get traded.

Matt Prater
So, one of the best long-range kickers in the NFL, the same one who kicks from far out so casually, the same one who broke the record for the longest field goal is merely an 80? Prater may have had one of his lowest field goal percentages as a Detroit Lion last year (75%), but he’s still very reliable.
Case in point, Prater finished in the top five for most 50+ yard field goals made in 2020 (6/10). Sure, other stronger kickers are getting ahead of him, but Prater’s still got the distance. And when the game is on the line, with distance a major factor, Prater continues to deliver even as he gets older.
