The Game Haus will be analyzing the player ratings from Madden 20 of every NFL team. Madden has a daunting task of rating all NFL players and their attributes. While they have the ability to correct some of these rankings with in-season roster updates, there are some issues with some of the initial rankings of players. Here are the Madden 20 questionable ratings: San Francisco 49ers.
Richard Sherman- 93
Sherman did well to come back from an Achille’s injury and played in 14 games for the 49ers last season. It was understandably not his best season, as he had just one interception and four passes defended. Madden still made him one of the best corners in the game by giving him a 93 rating.
The list of corners Sherman is rated higher than is astounding. Chris Harris Jr., Patrick Peterson and more make up the list. Sherman should be docked several points, as he wasn’t the third-best corner in football, but should still be given a respectable rating.
Adjusted Rating- 86
George Kittle- 90
Kittle had one of the best seasons ever for a tight end in 2018. He finished the year with 88 catches for 1,377 yards and five touchdowns. His play has put him in the conversation for the best tight end in football, which makes his 90 overall rating a little low.
Delanie Walker, of the Tennessee Titans, has never had a seasons as good as Kittle’s last year, yet was given a 92 overall rating. Madden should correct the error in ratings by flipping where Kittle and Walker are ranked.
Adjusted Rating- 92
Dee Ford- 84
Ford had the best season of his career for the Chiefs with 13 sacks and was acquired by the 49ers this offseason. After such a great season where he produced like one of the best pass rushers in the league, Madden gave him a very low 84 rating.
Brandon Graham of the Philadelphia Eagles had just four sacks last season, but was given an 89 rating. That means Ford should have a much better rating, as he produced a lot more sacks.
Adjusted Rating- 89
Marquise Goodwin- 83
Goodwin has left his mark being one of the fastest wide receivers in the NFL. Last season wasn’t his best effort though, as he had 23 receptions for 395 yards and four touchdowns in 11 games. Madden still gave him an 83 rating, which was a little too high.
Tyrell Williams had 41 catches for 653 yards and five touchdowns for the Los Angles Chargers last season. Madden gave him an 83 rating as well. Goodwin should have a little lower rating based on his production last season.
Adjusted Rating- 80
