Winning fantasy football isn’t just hitting on early-round picks. It also helps to find hidden gems late in fantasy drafts who can make an impact. Those who win fantasy leagues usually know how to find late-round sleepers. Let’s look at some players who could be considered fantasy football sleepers in 2024.
An injury-riddled rookie season prevented Miller from making an impact in New Orleans last year. But he’ll get a do-over in 2024. Without a lot of impressive rookie running backs heading into 2024, a second-year back like Miller could be an ideal sleeper. Keep in mind, he was a huge part of the TCU team in 2022 that went to the College Football Playoff. Even with Alvin Kamara and Jamaal Williams ahead of him on the depth chart, Miller will have a chance to play his way into a larger role. That makes him someone to draft late and stash on your roster for late in the year.
Overall, there’s nothing too impressive about Samuel’s fantasy numbers during his career. But he’s still a veteran commodity who can be trusted to produce something. More importantly, Samuel now plays for the Bills, who are weak at wide receiver. This year, he’ll be competing with rookie Keon Coleman and slot receiver Khalil Shakir to become Josh Allen’s favorite wide receiver. If Samuel can quickly develop chemistry with Allen, his numbers could skyrocket. He could even become a 1,000-yard receiver, giving him tons of value for a receiver who won’t warrant an early-round selection.
Despite playing on such a bad Carolina team last season, Hubbard still managed to rush for over 900 yards. Naturally, playing for the Panthers will help keep Hubbard off the fantasy radar a little. Hubbard out-played Miles Sanders last year and is still projected to be Carolina’s starter. If the Carolina offensive line can improve, Hubbard will have a chance to rush for over 1,000 yards and score a few more touchdowns, becoming a better fantasy option than most people realize.
With Keenan Allen and Mike Williams gone, Palmer has a chance to become the Chargers no. 1 wide receiver. His biggest competition for that spot right now is second-round pick Ladd McConkey and Quentin Johnston, who was a major bust in his rookie year last season. Even if Palmer has been underwhelming himself to this point in his career, the opportunity is there. With Justin Herbert playing quarterback for the Chargers, somebody on the team is bound to put up huge numbers. It might as well be Palmer.
Just like Hubbard, Palmer is a native of Canada who has made his way to the NFL. Canadians who follow the NFL have supported them throughout their careers. Those fans can explore betting sites in Canada to find markets for NFL games and a host of sports from all over the world.
Among rookie quarterbacks, Caleb Williams is the obvious choice from a fantasy perspective. However, Daniels might be a sleeper pick in fantasy leagues. It’s easy to be bullish on him because the Commanders aren’t expected to be a serious contender in the NFC East. However, his abilities as a runner make Daniels an intriguing fantasy option. He also has some proven receiving options around him like Terry McLaurin and tight end Zach Ertz. That gives him a fair amount of fantasy upside, making Daniels someone who can be drafted late and stashed just in case he hits the ground running.
It’s easy to be down on Freiermuth after a poor 2023 season. But keep in mind that he was on the rise coming out of the 2022 campaign. With a veteran quarterback like Russell Wilson in Pittsburgh, Freiermuth has some fantasy upside once again. In deeper fantasy leagues with 10-plus players, a tight end like Freiermuth may not be an elite fantasy option but could provide value late in the draft.
Granted, the quarterback situation in Denver isn’t ideal. But depending on how much you like Bo Nix, Mims could be a good fantasy option. With Jerry Jeudy gone, Mims has a chance to take on a bigger role in Denver’s offense. His speed gives him big-play ability, so the upside is there. It’s not as if Mima was a complete bust as a rookie last year, making him a young receiver who could take a big step forward in 2024.
