The cover “athlete” for Madden NFL 23 has been announced as of Wednesday, June 1. John Madden himself, who has not been on the cover of his own game since the year 2000 will return to the forefront. After his death in early 2021, Madden is really the only option to grace the front of the game’s box to which he lent his name.
PFF’s Ari Meirov reported the news via Twitter, saying that the game will have three different covers from which to choose.
Madden became an NFL coach in 1967, coaching the linebackers for the Raiders for two seasons. He, then, became the Raiders’ head coach in 1969, keeping that job for 10 seasons before retiring in 1978. During his tenure as a head coach, he became the youngest coach to reach 100 wins. Madden also won Super Bowl XI in 1976.
Following his coaching career, Madden became a legendary broadcaster for CBS, NBC, FOX and ABC. In 1988, he lent his name and voice to the NFL’s official video game. He retired from the broadcasting booth in 2009, but continued to lend creative input to the game that bared his name. The Madden NFL series is credited with piquing interest in football and the NFL itself throughout generations. The other thing that has been driving up the NFL is betting and here are some NFL betting sites.
