Former Chargers cornerback Jason Verrett has signed a one-year deal worth $3.6 million according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Verrett has been in the league since 2014, but has only played one game in the last two seasons due to injuries. He has 80 total tackles, 19 passes defended and five interceptions in his career.
San Francisco ranked 11th in pass defense last season, allowing 3,732 passing yards last season. Verrett will have to prove that he can stay healthy, but could start across from Richard Sherman if he can.
