Jaguars Interested in Gary Kubiak as Offensive Coordinator

Former Denver Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak has thrown his hat back in the ring to be a coach again, and the Jacksonville Jaguars are reportedly interested.

The fact that Kubiak wants to be an offensive coordinator again comes as a surprise. Two years ago, Kubiak stepped away from football because of health issues that made it impossible for him to coach. But with time away from the game, Kubiak feels like he is up to the task.

The Jaguars are in need of an offensive coordinator. The team fired Nathaniel Hackett during the 2018 season and quarterbacks coach Scott Milanovich took over play-calling duties for the remainder of the season. However, even between the two, the Jaguars had trouble on the offensive side of the ball. The team had several games where moving the ball was severely difficult, most notably through the air.

If the Jaguars were to land Kubiak, there is a good chance he will have a rookie quarterback to groom into a quality starter. The Jaguars have the seventh overall pick in the draft and could land Dwayne Haskins or Kyler Murray, should he declare for the draft. There is also a chance that he could have veteran quarterback Joe Flacco, who the Jaguars have interest in as well.
