Publish Date: July 29, 2021

Hamilton’s Dominance In Hungary

It seems that Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes dominate at every track. The Hungaroring is no different. Lewis Hamilton has won 4 out of the last 5 Hungarian Grand Prix’s. With Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in the championship lead, Hamilton would love to continue this dominance.

Lewis Hamilton also currently holds the lap record at the Hungaroring. Hamilton will look to score another pole position for the race. In order to beat Max Verstappen and Red Bull, Hamilton will need to be in top form. Getting pole on Saturday will be a potential key factor in Hamilton’s chances to win.

Red Bull Out For Blood

Red Bull did not leave the British Grand Pix very happy. Not only was Verstappen taken out of the race on lap 1, but the team’s second driver, Sergio Perez, was forced to start the race at the back of the grid. Perez was not able to make it back into the top 10 by the end of the race, resulting in both Red Bull drivers earning 0 points. With both the drivers and constructors championships close, Red Bull does not want a repeat of Silverstone.

The Red Bull garage as well still believes that Lewis Hamilton should have received a much more steep penalty for the collision with Verstappen. Their protests most likely will not result in any further punishment for Lewis, but it does show tensions are very high in Formula 1 right now. Red Bull’s best option to get back at Hamilton and Mercedes is to simply beat them. With both Verstappen and Perez in 1st and 5th place in the drivers championship, they certainly have the ability to both finish on the podium Sunday.

Don’t Forget About McLaren and Ferrari

The historic McLaren and Ferrari have shown that they are not to be forgotten. The rise of McLaren has been a delight to watch for F1 fans. The team had struggled for much of the last decade, but now they are returning to form. They’ve done so behind their young driver, Lando Norris. Norris has earned 3 podiums with F1 season, putting him in 3rd place in the driver’s championship. Meanwhile second driver, Daniel Riccardo has not earned a podium yet this season, but the Australian driver may be due for one.

For Ferrari, this has been a bounce back season. Both Charles Leclrec and Carlos Sainz have earned 2nd place place finishes this season for Ferrari. Including in Britian, where Laclrec lead until was passed by Hamilton in the final laps. Ferrari hopes to finally get that top spot on the podium this weekend. With Ferrari just behind McLaren for third in the constructor’s championship, any spot on the podium would go a long way for Ferrari.
