How did the NASCAR Drivers Spend the Off-Weekend?

Publish Date: June 18, 2019

As some dedicated NASCAR fans may have experienced some withdrawals during this off-weekend, the NASCAR drivers enjoyed spending their free time with family or friends instead of in a racecar. Some drivers even swapped their fire suits for a pair of swim trunks and ventured overseas for a vacation.

seven-time NASCAR champion Jimmie Johnson traveled to Greece with his wife and two daughters. The picture below was captioned “hike to lunch.”

Erik Jones

Erik Jones spent time with his family and fans in his hometown of Byron, Michigan. Byron High School hosted “Erik Jones Day,” which consisted of music, games, and a car show with Jones’ fans. His German Shepard, Oscar, even made an appearance.

Ryan Blaney

It appears that Ryan Blaney had a very adventurous break. Not only did he travel all the way to Turkey and Russia, he also experienced the Air Race. The picture below also features his fellow friend and NASCAR driver, Chase Elliott.

William Byron

The 2018 Rookie of the Year William Byron traveled to Las Vegas with a couple of his buddies. Perhaps this is Byron’s first Vegas trip, aside from NASCAR functions, since turning 21 in November. It was pretty smart of him to get a head start on traveling West for the Sonoma race this weekend.

Joey Logano

Joey Logano, last year’s champion and a fairly new father, spent some time with his family over the weekend. Logano posted a video of him and his son, Hudson, playing on a waterslide, along with a picture of him with his wife, Brittany by the lake. Although not confirmed, it appears the Logano’s are at their home in Lake Norman, NC.

After a restful off-weekend, the NASCAR Monster Energy series will resume with the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at the Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, California.
