The Atlanta Falcons have made a roster move ahead of the deadline that doesn’t involve a trade. They have decided to release defensive lineman Marlon Davidson almost two months after he underwent a knee surgery.
PFF’s Ari Meirov reported the news via Twitter on Tuesday.
Davidson has played just 19 games in his NFL career after being drafted in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He played just eight games in his rookie year after a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list and just 11 games (1 start) in 2021.
Due to the September knee surgery, he has not played a single game in the 2022 season. His career stats include 29 combined tackles, one sack and one fumble recovery. Davidson’s first and only career interception was a pick-six against Tom Brady.
