Enes Kanter is getting a fresh start with a new team. On Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Kanter signed with the Blazers. Kanter also confirmed the signing on Twitter.
“I look forward to helping the Blazers achieve the ultimate goal of competing for a championship,” Kanter said. “It is a blessing to continue to compete at the highest level! Let’s go Rip City.”

Kanter is joining the Blazers after playing 44 games with the Knicks this season. He averaged 14.0 points and 10.5 rebounds while with the Knicks. This was his second season with the Knicks prior to the trade deadline. After the deadline, the Knicks waived Kanter, who received interested from teams such as the Celtics and Lakers.
Kanter will be on his third Western Conference team of his career. He started his career with the Utah Jazz in 2011 when they drafted him with the third pick of the 2011 draft. Then, he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2015. Ironically, he became a restricted free agent that summer and signed a $70 million offer sheet with the Blazers, but, the Thunder matched the offer. Then, he played for the Thunder until 2017. The Thunder traded him, Doug McDermott and a 2018 second-round pick to the Knicks. The Thunder received Carmelo Anthony in return.
The Blazers are currently fourth in the West. They have a record of 33-23. The Blazers already have big men such as Jusuf Nurkić and Meyers Leonard on their roster, but the addition of Enes Kanter could make the Blazers even better.
