The Green Bay Packers’ extremely versatile offensive lineman, Elgton Jenkins, is expected to miss a few weeks. After taking a “friendly fire” injury during Week 2, MRIs have confirmed that Jenkins has a sprained MCL.
ESPN Packers reporter Rob Demovsky reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
After taking a few more snaps after the injury took place, Jenkins came off of the field for the rest of the game. Head coach Matt LaFleur said he was “surprised” the injury was at all serious because of his staying on the line. The turf-vs.-grass debate was also reinvigorated as Jenkins said he thought the turf played a role in the injury.
After beginning his career as a guard, he’s moved all around the line, including becoming a tackle and guard on both sides of the line. Jenkins hasn’t played every game in a season since 2020, his sophomore campaign.
