Normally when visiting Disneyland the only Duck that park goers see is Donald Duck. However, on Thursday and Friday there were a whole lot of Ducks taking over the parks.
Thursday and Friday the Anaheim Ducks had their annual Ducks at Disneyland Day. The team brings current and former players to the park. It is usually a more relaxing day for players and a good chance for fans to see them off of the ice. The Ducks social media team posted various videos and photos throughout the day.
The day included a parade cavalcade of both former and current players. Fans had the opportunities to even take a photo with the Stanley Cup on Friday. The team also sold exclusive merchandise commemorating the event.
This is an annual tradition for the Ducks, but it was extra special this year as the team celebrates its 30th anniversary. From 1993 to 2005 the Disney company was the majority owner for the team, so it is an awesome time to celebrate the twos long history.
Disneyland’s California Adventure Park made their Hollywood Land a Ducks fan zone for the two day event. Fans with special wristbands could participate in meet and greets. Fans also got to test their hockey skills in a series of events. There was also a park-wide “seek and find” activity that required fans to explore the whole park. The Disney Art Academy taught everyone how to draw Disney Ducks. The Ducks also brought their DJ and Power Players.
The Ducks still have a couple months of the season left, but this is an annual event many fans in the Orange County Area look forward to.
