The Miami Dolphins have released veteran center Matt Skura. He was signed to a one-year contract by Miami on March 19, 2021 but will not make the roster.
The NFL’s Ian Rapoport reported the news via Twitter on Monday.
Skura had spent his entire career with the Ravens before signing with the Dolphins. From 2018 to 2020, he was an anchor on the Ravens’ offensive line after joining the team as an undrafted free agent in 2017. He was signed to the practice squad multiple times before earning a spot on the roster.
His 2020 season was marred by a stint on the reserve/COVID-19 list before returning in December. The Ravens fell to the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round of the 2020 AFC playoffs. The Dolphins, however did not make the playoffs despite a decent record. They will try to earn just their fifth playoff berth since 2000 without Skura.
