Today at Saints’ practice the newly signed wide receiver Dez Bryant was helped off the field for what is believed to be a torn Achilles, per NFL reporter Tom Pelissero. The injury apparently occurred during routine route run during his second practice with New Orleans.

Bryant went without a team since April after the Dallas Cowboys released him. He worked out with several different teams including the Cleveland Browns but left all places without a contract. He worked out with the Saints on Thursday then signed a contract later that day. Bryant’s contract is a 1-year, $1.75 million deal. He is set to earn $500,000 in reception incentives.
Bryant is getting an MRI to confirm if the injury is as serious as it looks.
During his eight years with the Cowboys, he was a breakout star with 73 touchdowns and 7,456 yards.
