The Cleveland Browns have sent away one of their offensive pieces ahead of the 2023 NFL trade deadline. Wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones is reportedly being sent to Detroit in return for a sixth round selection.
PFF’s Ari Meirov reported the news via Twitter on Halloween.
Peoples-Jones is being sent to his hometown and college state in the trade, as he was originally a sixth round pick (187th overall) in the 2020 NFL Draft out of the University of Michigan. He’s only ever played for the Browns in his NFL tenure.
He has primarily been a wide receiver and return man for Cleveland since arriving. In 2022, he played in all 17 games (14 starts), and had his best receiving season, hauling in 61 receptions for 839 yards and three touchdowns (all career highs).
