One college star made the 14-person roster for the U.S. National Team training camp: Caitlin Clark.
Clark is the face of college hoops right now, so it comes as no surprise the US committee wants her at training camp. The second-round Iowa-West Virginia game drew 4.9 million viewers, the most-viewed women’s tournament game excluding the Final Four and title games in history.
Clark is no stranger to representing Team USA having won three gold medals in the 2019 and 2021 FIBA U19 World Cups and the 2017 FIBA Americas U16 Championship. She also won the 2021 FIBA U19 World Cup MVP and All-Star Five selection. The phenom is one of six athletes to have competed on two USA U19 World Cup Teams.
The training camp will take place in Cleveland from April 3-5 which conflicts with the NCAA Women’s Final Four which is from April 5-7 also in Cleveland. USA Basketball said that Clark’s attendance at the camp is contingent on the Iowa Hawkeyes performance in the tournament.

The roster is not the final Olympic roster for Paris this summer.
In addition to an invitation from Team USA, Clark just received a $5 million offer to play in the BIG3 basketball league. Big3 is a 3-on-3 basketball league founded by Ice Cube and Jeff Kwatinetz. The league is mostly comprised of former NBA players and international players. It has never had a female player in it so Clark would be making history. She is also projected as the No. 1 draft pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.
This is all while Clark is still pursuing a marketing degree and playing in the NCAA Tournament. The Iowan has taken the sports world by storm and is only beginning to make her mark.
