USWNT and San Diego Wave star Alex Morgan has released a video on social media announcing her retirement from soccer. It will be effective after San Diego’s game on Sunday.
Morgan is 35 years old and had 223 CAPs for the USWNT. She scored 123 goals for the national team, which ranks fifth in USWNT history.
During her career, Morgan played for several club teams, including West Coast FC, California Storm, Pali Blues, Western New York Flash, Seattle Sounders Women, Portland Thorns FC, Orlando Pride, Lyon, Tottenham Hotspur and the San Diego Wave. Morgan netted 81 goals in her club career. She attended Cal for college where she scored 45 goals in 67 appearances.
