Andy Reid is one of the best coaches in the NFL. He continues to produce winning teams who make the playoffs, even when people don’t expect his teams to do well. A bad year for a Reid coached team is eight wins. I expect the Chiefs to win at least nine games. Alex Smith has played well over the past two season. Jamaal Charles is coming off an injury but can still be a good, if not great, running back. Last season Jeremy Maclin helped improve the passing game as well.
The Chiefs also have a vicious defense that can get to the quarterback. Over the past three seasons the Chiefs have finished in the top six in sacks. Kansas City has a total of 140 sacks for an average of 46.6 sacks per year over the past three seasons. Any defense who can rush the passer will add a few more wins. I won’t be surprised if the Chiefs win the division, although I don’t expect it. They should be in the playoff hunt on the final week of the season.
