The 2024 NFL Draft is over and teams are getting comfortable with their new draft picks. The next class of players is getting prepared now for another year of college football. Each position will be analyzed in the coming days. Here is the 2025 NFL Draft prospect watchlist: Wide Receivers.
Burden was a five-star recruit who went to Missouri out of Illinois. He had a decent freshman season, finishing with 45 catches for 375 yards and six touchdowns. Burden really broke out in 2023, with 86 catches for 1,212 yards and nine touchdowns.
What sets Burden apart is his explosive athleticism. He has good quickness, agility and speed. Burden runs solid routes and is great at picking up yardage after the catch. He can take some routes off and has a limited catch radius. It looks like Burden will be a first-round pick.
After being limited in his first season on campus, Egbuka really showed his talent in the 2022 season. He caught 74 passes for 1,151 yards and 10 touchdowns to help the Buckeyes make the College Football Playoff. For the 2023 season, Egbuka only played in 10 games due to injury, but registered 41 catches for 515 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Egbuka has solid size for a wide receiver and can play on the outside at the next level with the ability to create after the catch. He has polished releases at the line of scrimmage and has experience as a returner. Egbuka can show more effort as a blocker and eliminate focus drops to enhance his draft stock. He also can run sharper routes and not round them off as much.
As a four-star recruit in the class of 2022, McMillan signed With Arizona out of California. He immediately created an impact, hauling in 39 passes for 702 yards and eight touchdowns. In 2023, he improved even more with 90 receptions for 1,402 yards and 10 touchdowns.
McMillan has a huge catch radius, making him great for jump balls and in the red zone. He finds soft spots against zone coverage and uses his body well to shield the ball from defenders. Improving his route running and his ability to run after the catch will help his stock.
Stewart was a five-star receiver who decided to stay in his home state to play for Texas A&M. He caught 53 passes for 649 yards and two touchdowns as a freshman. In only eight games during the 2023 season, he hauled in 38 passes for 514 yards and four touchdowns.
He has proven to be a good route runner with solid athleticism Stewart can stretch the field vertically and play in the slot or outside. He’ll need to add play strength and do better in contested catch situations. A move to Oregon for the 2024 season could help him increase his draft stock.
Isaiah Bond, Texas– Bond made some big plays for Alabama the last couple of seasons and now is suiting up for Texas. He can make plays vertically or run after the catch.
Barion Brown, Kentucky- Brown is a speedster who has impressed at Kentucky. He also returns kicks, but will need more refined route running for the next level.
Tre Harris, Ole Miss- Harris has a solid frame that enables him to make contested catches and ones that are off his frame.
Juice Wells, Ole Miss- Injuries derailed his 2023 season at South Carolina and now Wells is at Ole Miss. He is good at running after the catch, but may not stretch defenses vertically.
